• Alexander the Great, King of Macedonia, Drachm. Size: 23 mm. OBVERSE: The head of young Herakles, clad in a lions skin. REVERSE: Zeus seated on a throne, holding eagle and scepter. Beneath the throne a rams head, below the eagle L and a monogram PS.
• Alexander was King of Macedonia and most of the known world from 336-323 B.C. He was the greatest military strategist in the ancient world. A great accomplishment since he died at the age of 33.
• Alexander was also well educated, having Aristotle as one of his teachers. He was the son of Phillip II.
